There are various things that a civilian thinks he knows about the military life or about the life of a military life. In this blog we are going to reveal what a military wife actually goes through, her struggles and daily life experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The first posting is a brutal shock to the system.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Each subsequent posting\/deployment or separation will turn you into a bag of nerves, despite adequate planning, prep and support and it is not easy. <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Deployments don\u2019t get easier, you simply gain more experience to cope with it in a better way. <\/span><\/li>\n
  4. You will spend nearly the entire time at your current duty station speculating about where you will go next.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Someone will ask for your address history and you will be all confused. <\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Your ID card will become an extension of your body. Without it, you\u2019ll feel lost and incomplete. <\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Learning acronyms and abbreviations will become your second language.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Some posting stations will feel like the worst place EVER, right until you meet good people and nice friends, a month of two before your rotation date.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Patriotism will root itself deep into your heart and you will love your country all the more like never before. <\/span><\/li>\n
  10. You will travel insane distances to see your friends and family back home.<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. You\u2019ll spend the majority of your time as a military spouse either unemployed<\/span> or underemployed.<\/span><\/li>\n
  12. People will say a lot of silly things to you like\u2026\u201cI could never do what you do.\u201d And you will find a way to answer that gracefully. <\/span><\/li>\n
  13. Homecoming will feel like falling in love<\/span> all over again. First comes the honeymoon phase, and then it just gets awkward.<\/span><\/li>\n
  14. You\u2019ll make a plan only to make a new plan over and over again, sounds funny but that\u2019s the truth. <\/span><\/li>\n
  15. You will usually end up breaking things while moving to the new place of posting. <\/span><\/li>\n
  16. At some point, you will feel lonely and wonder what in the world you are doing with your life and why are you letting go so many opportunities that are waiting outside of this military life. <\/span><\/li>\n
  17. Military life will take you to the highest of highs and lowest of lows emotionally.<\/span><\/li>\n
  18. Your ability to handle tough situations will rise exponentially, you become more stronger and stronger with time. <\/span><\/li>\n
  19. Attending the military functions and parties will be like your teenage prom.. for adults.<\/span><\/li>\n
  20. You will try to explain your life as a fauji life to your civilian friends and they won\u2019t get it.<\/span><\/li>\n
  21. The family readiness group is going to help you when you least expect it.<\/span><\/li>\n
  22. Having a pet will complicate your life<\/span>\u00a0\u2026from finding a pet-friendly home to securing a safe place to kennel your fur baby.<\/span><\/li>\n
  23. Upon arriving to the military base gate<\/span>, you\u2019ll either forget your ID card completely or you\u2019ll hand them a credit card.<\/span><\/li>\n
  24. The number of long-distance friendships<\/span> you maintain will far exceed the number of friends living in your current duty station.<\/span><\/li>\n
  25. Determining the perfect time to start a family will feel like advanced college calculus.<\/span><\/li>\n
  26. You\u2019ll get pregnant and he\u2019ll announce he\u2019s leaving on deployment\u2026right before your due date.<\/span><\/li>\n
  27. People you barely know in the military community will do extraordinary things for you at the drop of a hat.<\/span><\/li>\n
  28. Amazing friendships<\/span> doesn\u2019t even begin to describe the relationships you will form with other spouses.<\/span><\/li>\n
  29. Taking calls at 3 am from halfway around the world will seem normal.<\/span><\/li>\n
  30. After living in the same place for 3 years, you\u2019ll be itching to move again.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
